Cynthia Ann Crawford (born February 20 the 20th of February, 1966) is an American model and actress as well as a television star. Through the 1990s and the 1980s she was one of the most popular supermodels , and frequently appeared on runways and magazine covers as well as on fashion campaigns. Then, she branched out into the business world and acting. She was contacted in her sophomore year from a local clothing shop about modeling work. However, it turned out to be an unintentional joke from two of her classmates. However, the following year, another store hired a number of high school girls, including Crawford, to work for them (including the fashion shoot). Roger Legel (a local photographer) approached Crawford in her junior year to shoot her. The project included a shoot with Crawford for the magazine. The image and positive feedback she received were enough to inspire her to start modeling. She began working with a small modeling agency. Elite Model Management sold her to the agency shortly after she signed. In 1983, she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest aged 17 and reached the national finals.
